August 01, 2026 – Enrolment is now open for the 2nd Cohort of the CPDSO-Accredited SA&A Public Sector, Policy & Political Communications Course scheduled to hold on August 27, 2026 from 9am – 4pm WAT (West Africa Time) online via ZOOM.
The course is designed for communications professionals and consultants who work in the public sector, political context or policy making or advocacy space. This course is also useful for any communications professional or practitioner working in an NGO or institutional context that involves influencing or working with government, public sector or collaborating on public policy-related issues or working as a communications professional in a politically sensitive context.
In this course, we focus on teaching the strategic communications approach that is resilient for modern day contexts.
✅The course focuses on taking participants through the fundamental principles of strategic communications in public and policy sector context and showing real-life case studies relevant to the Nigerian and African context on what (not) to do when communicating on policy, governance or political issues, strategic agenda or institutional direction.
✅The session deals with real-life challenges like managing social media complexity, navigating political pressure in public sector communications; the importance of trust and the power of a credible voice. And the way in which changes in the media landscape, emergence of online communities and social media activism has impacted the way in which communications must be handled.
✅The last module focuses on how to achieve and measure success in this context.
*The purpose of this course is to prepare institutional communicators for the future that cannot be ignored, where information is democratized and institutions must work hard to earn the trust of the public’s they engage with through strategic and authentication communication. The session will also focus on navigating complexity around misinformation and how to stay on top of the online dynamics and complexities in the digital mobile first world of today.
